disintegrate the cd rom drive

I had squeezing problem with my cd rom drive. I could not eject my disc, first i looked to internet and try some basic solutions. However it wasn’t work. So i opened my macbook, then opened cd rom drive, too. And I solved my problem.

But when i reparing i was obliged to remove a adhesive tape (long story). Now i use my cd-rom drive without the adhesive tape. I’m sharing picture of my cd-rom drive below. My question is, is it cause any damage risk, danger, or some kind of basic problems if I go on using my pc as is (in this manner).
